Daughter of John W. Hearn & Laura Ann Pitts. Married to William Copeland Barry (1863-1944 AL) 1884 @ Choctaw Co., AL. Sarah "Sallie" was named for her Hearn grandmother.

Laura Ann Pitts Hearn was an indigent widow & moved frequently to live with married children after her husband's death. Laura Annie last lived with her son George Madison Hearn 1905-1906 in Clarke County where she passed away in 1906. Her actual grave site is "unknown". This is verified in her "Confederate Widows Pension Application " (denied) completed in her own hand when living with son George M. Hearn in Quitman, Clarke Co., MS. Application dated December 1905.

Granddaughter of George Monroe Hearn (1798-1864) and Sarah "Sallie" Spencer Hearn Hearn (1808-1854). Her grandparents came first to Clarke Co., AL by 1815 but then moved over to Clarke Co., MS in 1831 where both are buried in unknown grave locations. They were all among the earliest settlers of both Alabama & Mississippi.

Grandmother of Sarah "Sallie" S. Hearn Barry was a distant Hearn cousin to her husband. Her great grandparents parents George Hearn & Charlotte (no verified/known maiden name) were also in Clarke Co., AL by 1815. Both are buried in unknown graves in Clarke Co., AL.
