Fairfield - Mrs. George Switzer, 69, died Nov. 24, at 8:50 a. m. at the home of her son, Esco Messer, 1107 South Seventh street.
Mrs. Switzer had been seriously ill for one week.
The former Icie Stout, she was born at Unionville, Mo., on April 4, 1882, the daughter of John and Lucy Hall Stout, and was married on Nov. 10, 1901, to the late Reason Messer, at Unionville. On March 12, 1927, she was married to George Switzer, at Fairfield. Switzer died last Jan. 17.
Three sons and 3 daughters survive: Esco Messer, Fairfield; Eustace Messer, Gillispie, Ill.; Creston P. Messer, Beardstown, Ill.; Mrs. John O. Gallup, Streator, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Riley, Ft. Madison, and Mrs. Harry Smith, of Fairfield.
Also surviving are 3 step-children: Mrs. Lucille White, Rock Island, Ill.; Mrs. Elizabeth Pentacost, Crawfordsville, and Ralph Switzer, of Fairfield; 3 brothers, Ed. C. and Loran L. Stout, both of Sanish, S. D., and Ernest R. Stout, Milan, Mo.; 30 granchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Last rites will be held at Victory Tabernacle, Fairfield, at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Raymond Lisenbee will officiate, and burial will be in the Lockridge cemetery.
The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home.
