Mrs. Caroline Gahnz

Mrs. Caroline Gahnz, 80, 615 S. Fifth Ave., died yesterday afternoon at 4:45 O'clock in her home following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the Helke Funeral Home and that afternoon in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. E.H. Bertermann will officiate and interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. The body will be in the funeral home from noon tomorrow until after the morning rites, when it will be taken to the church.

A life-long resident of this area, Mrs. Gahnz was born Dec 11, 1874, in the town of Stettin, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Semerau. She was married here Jan. 25, 1899, to August Gahnz, who survives. Mrs. Gahnz was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and Welfare workers of Trinity Church.

Besides the widower, surviving are two sons, Walter Gahnz, 1115 Sixth St., three daughters, Mrs. Esther Raasch, Wichita, Kan., Miss Marie Gahnz, at home, and Mrs. Flora Kuether, 412 N. First Ave; a brother, August; Town of Stettin; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Griggel, 1303 Cleveland Ave.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
