BEVERLY - Constance C. "Connie" Raynes-Rathbun of Beverly, formerly of Marblehead, died Saturday in Beverly Hospital at the age of 63. She was the wife of Philip Rathbun of Kinsman Street, Beverly.

A lifetime Marblehead resident, she was born Nov. 3, 1933, daughter of Louise G. (Martin) Cutler and the late Harold H. Cutler. She was a graduate of Marblehead High School, class of 1951.

She was the past vice president of the Crossroads Quilters, a member of the American Quilting Society, the Lowell Quilters Group, the Massachusetts Quilting Society and a New England Quilt Museum charter member.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by five daughters and four sons, Ann Martin and her husband David of Marblehead, Robert W. Raynes and his wife Carol of Beverly, Susan Homan and her husband Walter of Marblehead, Julie Raynes of Marblehead, Daniel Raynes and his wife Fiona of Washington, D.C., Sally Palocci and her husband Roger of Marblehead, John H. Raynes and his wife Julie Ann of Beverly, Maureen Rathbun Murphy of Texas and Kevin Rathbun of Newmarket, N.H.,; her brother Hooper Cutler and his wife and Joan of Marblehead; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford St., Marblehead. Visiting hours are today from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons, 142 Elm St., Marblehead.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 66 Concord St., Wilmington, MA 01887 or the AIDS Action Committee, 131 Clarendon St., Boston, MA 02116
