Born June 24,1907, in Powers Lake,S.D., he was the son of Lewis and Estelle Nelson Barckley.
He moved to Elgin from Janesville,Wis., in 1942.
He was a manager with S & H Green Stamp before retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Riverside Club of Elgin.
Surviving are the widow, Viola A. Dixon Barckley whom he married in 1937;one son, Arden of Elgin; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Mari-El) Falkenberg of Union and Mrs. John (Bonita) Snowwhite of Elgin; one brother,Marvin of Huntington, Long Island, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Dixon of Janesville, Wisl, and nine grandchildren.
Private services will be held Monday in the Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, Elgin with Nicholas Leftrook of First Churchof Christ Scientist,Elgin,officiating. Burial will be in Lake Street Memorial Park,Elgin.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday at the chapel.
