Funeral services for Burel A Casteel, 87, who died at 12:30 p.m. Monday at his home, Decatur route 3 were conducted at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the residence by Rev J D Prayton and Rev William Aldridge. Burial in Bald Knob cemetery, Lawrence county, was directed by Brown of Decatur. Mr Casteel, a well-known farmer, had been ill a long time.

He is survived by eight daughters, Mrs C B Ferguson, Mrs George Thrasher, Mrs S H NeSmith, Mrs G W Hill, Mrs Cleve Griffin, Mrs H N Pettey, Mrs W T Means, Mrs Clyde Rogers; Three sons, William Herman, Freeman Asbury and Ennis Winford Casteel, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Eddie Hill, Arthur Callahan, Marvin Kitchens, Furman Thompson, Fred and Alvie Wade.

He was the son of Franklin Casteel. Cause of death was heart trouble. He was a widower at the time of his death.
