Solomon Meals one of our most respected citizens, after a illness, died at the home of his son, John J Meals, on the 6th, inst , and was buried at Bendersville on Sunday. Rev. Mr Diehl the Lutheran minister, officialing
Deceased was 81 years, 4 months and 14 days and is survived by two sons, John J , of this place, and Wm H of Enhaut, Dauphin county, and five daughters, Mrs. Calvin Deatrick of near Anosa, Mrs Daniel Piter, of Idaville, Mrs Harvey Stevens, of near New Chester, Mrs J H Brady, of York and Mrs Priscilla Starner, of Alga.
Two daughters, former wives of Jacob Hewitt and Jacob Thomas, died several years ago.
Mr. Meals was well known over tbe greater part of Adams county, and being always a most kind and obliging Christian man, had gained for himself a multitude of friends wherever he was known
