OBITUARY
Alice Lavenia Burr 1869 - 1923

Alice Lavenia Burr, daughter of Joseph and Ruth Burr was born December 25, 1869 near Montpelier Indiana and departed this life August 17, 1923 being 53 years, 7 months and 23 days. She came to Smith County Kansas with her parents in 1874, then to Wichita County in 1888. She was married to Wm. Brock November 9th, 1892, to this union was born one daughter, Hessie now Mrs. Robert Ford. She united with the Presbyterian Church in 1903. She had been in poor health for a number of years and the last two years of her life she was helpless. She was taken to the best doctors in the United States and everything possible was done to find a cure. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and many is the home that she gave help in time of sickness. She leaves a loving husband, a daughter, an aged father, one sister Mrs. Agnes Mathes and two brothers William and Hiram all of Wichita County.

A short service was held at the Brock home here in town at 12:00 Sunday by E.A. Spear. The services were continued at Beulah church and interment was made in Beulah cemetary.
