Ben Alexander was the son of Samuel and Pearl Griffin Alexander. He married Betty Everett on June 13, 1937, in Burnet County, Texas, and they were the parents of a daughter, Betty Sue.
Ben spent his working life as a farmer and raised stock on his place in the area of the Bethel community. He was a descendant of Samuel Stevenson Alexander, born 1804 in North Carolina, and Thurzy Ross Alexander, born 1810 in Tennessee. Samuel and Thurzy had settled in Northern Burnet County in the early 1850's after coming from Arkansas by way of Williamson County, Texas.

Ben Griffin Alexander, 90, of Burnet, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004 in Lampasas. A member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Victor, Ben was a retired farmer and rancher of Burnet County.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Everett Alexander; granddaughter Beth Linn Chaney; and by his parents. He is survived by daughter Betty Alexander Chaney; three grandchildren, Peggy, Nancy and Robert; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Todd, and Cole. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Annie Belle Reavis.
Funeral services were held February 23, at Edgar Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Darrell Debo officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery
