I don't know much about my Great Uncle Gene, but what I did hear about him was that Uncle Gene never met a stranger. He was always helping the family out as much as he could. Nanny use to call Uncle Gene, Baby Gene, and we all would call him that too when Nanny would talk about him, which wasn't much,it was too hard on her. I remember when I was little Nanny and Pawpaw had a picture of Baby Gene in their room and I would sit and talk to him. To me it seemed like Uncle Gene was listening to me.
