BENTON PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday for Thomas Herman Gragg oldest son of Joseph and Lovina Gragg who died at his home in Bellfountain neighborhood, August 8.
He was born on the donation claim of his grandfather, H.C. Buckingham, near Bellfountain, October 18, 1862. He graduated from Philomath college where he taught school for a number of years. He moved to Huntington, Ind., in 1897 where he taught in Central college for 15 years. On returning to Benton county in 1912 he resided on his old home farm until his death.
In 1892 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary O. Haines. He is survived by his widow and one son, G.M. Gragg, of Bellfountain, also one sister, Mrs. B.M. McLain and one brother, M.E. Gragg of near Scio, and two brothers Philo; and Vernon Gragg of Bellfountain.
The funeral will be held in Bellfountain church at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the family plot in the Bellfountain cemetery. The Hollingsworth Funeral home will have charge of the services.
