"An extensive stone quarry has been worked for twenty years or more by Philip Davis, near the Mississinewa north of Mount Vernon. It furnishes broad, flat, smooth stone for building and flagging, etc., and a large quantity is sold through the County round, people coming to get them from this quarry from a distance of seven or eight miles in various directions."
