Funeral services for Tom Hancock, 61, of Poynor were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with the Revs. G. C. Folmar and Jeff Godwin officiating.
Burial was in the Modoc Cemetery in Athens.
Mr. Hancock died Tuesday, May 11, in an Athens hospital following a long illness.
He was born Sept. 24, 1931 in Henderson county to Paul Hancock and Alma Cora Foster Hancock and was a resident of Henderson County most of his life.
Mr. Hancock was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Hancock II and Mike Ramsey, both of Poynor; a daughter, Jackie Hancock of Garland; a sister, Bea Luttrell of Garland; and four grandchildren, Joshua and Cody Hancock of Poynor, Bryan Ramsey of Poynor and Whitney Ramsey of Childress.
Pallbearers were Mike Cornelius, Charles Cornelius, David Cornelius, Farris Smith, Robert Lee and Gene Luttrell.
