He was born Feb. 26, 1887, in Manheim, Pa., and lived his early life there. In 1910 he first came to Wenatchee and purchased an orchard on Millerdale St. In 1916 he went to VanWert, Ohio, to marry Ella L Tumbleson, Jan. 12, 1916. They returned to Wenatchee to make their home.
The Earharts moved to East Wenatchee in 1922, where they purchased an orchard on Ninth Street. Mr. Earhart developed an irrigation business at that location, which later became known as Joe Earhart & Son. He retired from the business in 1967.
Mr. Earhart was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee.
Survivors include his wife, Etta, at home; one son, Vance D. Earhart, East Wenatchee; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Memmer, Monticello, Ind.; six grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob F. Earhart, and by a sister, Fannie Hosler.
