T. H. CUNNINGHAM DIES: EXTENSIVE FARMLAND OWNER

Son of Barclay Twp. Early Settlers; Widow, Four Children Survive.

Thomas H. Cunningham, 1105 Grant Avenue, son of early settlers in Barclay Township, died in St. Francis Hospital at 8:10 a.m. Friday of complications, following a week's illness. He was 71 years old.

Living in Waterloo since he retired from farming in 1931, he was a son of Thomas and Margaret Cunningham, who settled in Barclay Township in 1851. The parents had lived in Ohio for a short time after emigrating from Ireland.

Born in Barclay July 11, 1869. Mr. Cunningham spent, his entire life in Black Hawk County and became an extensive landowner. He married Miss Ellen A. Davin in St. Joseph's Catholic Church here July 22, 1900.

Another son, Thomas F. Cunningham, died in 1932. Also dead are three brothers: Daniel. John and Michael Cunningham, and a sister, Mrs. John Grogan.

Mr. Cunningham was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church. The body was taken to O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.

Funeral for Thomas H. Cunningham, 1105 Grant Avenue, who died Friday of complications in St. Francis Hospital, will be conducted at 9 a. m. Monday in Sacred Heart Church by Rt. Rev. Mser. Edward J. Dougherty, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The Sacred Heart Rosary society will meet at 8 p. m. Sunday in O'Keefe & Towne funeral home to recite the rosary. The body will remain at the funeral home until the service. Casket bearers will include Patrick and J. J. Meany. Gus Miller. Henry Turner. V. F. Renz and William R. Walker.
