Mary was the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Grant) Elliott. She married Charles Abbitt in 1880. Known children born to them were Charles Jr., Minnie, Elmer, and Harry.
Mrs. Mary E. Abbitt, 94, a long-time resident of Moberly, died at 10:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of a son, Harry Abbitt, Kansas City.
Mrs. Abbitt was born in Allegheny, Pa., but had spent practically her entire life in Moberly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Abbitt is survived by two sons, Harry Abbitt of Kansas City, and Charles Abbitt of Arkansas City, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Vardiman of Leavenworth, Kan.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Mahan Funeral Parlors, tomorrow afternoon by Dr. Merle A. Mitchell, First Baptist pastor. Burial in Oakland cemetery.
