The second wife of Thomas Wells was Prudence Shipman with whom he had the following children: Thankful (1751- ), Prudence (1753_ ), Elihu (1755- ), Russell (1758-1838), Thomas 3rd (1760-1826), Reuben (1762 - ), Shipman (1764-1840), William Augustus (1767- ) and Elisabeth (1769 -). His wife and all these children including those from his first marriage are mentioned in his will.
