Death notice from THE HARTFORD HERALD, Mar 12, 1919
IN MEMORY
-------
Of Elmore McKinney, who lived near McHenry and who died Feb. 11, 1919. He was born Oct. 12, 1880. He was a victim of the Flu. He was called from this world of sorrow to a "home not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens," for he was a faithful christian. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father. May God, the Great Leader, guide them through this life to a home in Heaven, there to meet Elmore where parting is no more.

*note* His first name was misspelled in the original article.
*Note* Most records show that he spelled his last name as McKinney. However his parents used the spelling of McKenney. Since his parents had the stone erected it had the spelling of McKenney.
