Mary was born in Orange County, NY the daughter of Stephen and Abigail (Fountain) Yeoman. She married Jared Benjamin in 1812. The family moved to Fayette County, Ohio around 1815. Jared died here and buried near Good Hope, Ohio. Mary and her children came to join other family members in Jasper County.
