She graduated from KU on Dec. 13, 1998, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Michelle obtained her professional engineering license in 2005. Michelle was employed by KCMO as an Air Quality Engineer for six years, and then was employed by Environmental Resources Management, an international company, as an engineer in air regulatory compliance work.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Leonard and April Meyer of Independence, Mo. She adopted a rescue dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback which she adored.
Michelle was comforted by boyfriend, Thomas Killian, throughout her nine-month battle with cancer. Her best friends, Carrie Hohl and Sarah Page, also provided generous support.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Mt. Washington Funeral Chapel Mausoleum in Independence. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Chapel Mausoleum starting at 1 p.m.
