Viney married Pleasant Holt of nearby Gwinnett County on 8 Jul 1877 in Campbell County. Ples and Viney set up housekeeping in Gwinnett County, where Ples worked as a farmer, according to the 1880 census record.
By the 1900 census, the family had moved to nearby Paulding County, Georgia, where Ples again lists his occupation as a farmer. According to this census, under number of children Viney lists 8 living, 10 total: two deceased unknown children who must have died during infancy. Their dates of birth and sex are unknown. However, in the 1910 census, Viney reports only 8 children, seven of whom were living. One daughter, Prudice Lavinia (b. 22 Sep 1891 d. 13 Oct 1893, burial unknown) died young.
Sometime after the 1900 census Ples served as the town marshal of nearby Villa Rica, Georgia. Sadly, Ples was killed in the line of duty in 1908, leaving Viney widowed.
Viney continued to reside in Paulding County (found in 1910 census) until her death in 1919.
