Julia Cora Ballema, age 93, of Porter Hills, longtime resident of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, James; brother, Robert Bouwer.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Loisann) Ballema of Grand Rapids and Kenneth (Gretchen) Ballema of Ada; brother, Sidney (Gaye) Bouwer; sisters, Cora (Gene) Pointer and Madge (Jack) Bolt; grandchildren, David Ballema, Sarah Ballema, Carolyn Ballema, Jonathan (Kelly) Ballema; sister-in-law, Charlotte Ballema.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Rev. Terry Tessari of First Congregational Church of Lowell, officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation Friday 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Porter Hills Benevolent Fund, 3600 E. Fulton, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
