Etta, oldest of ten daughters of Josephus "Seth" Doty & Martha Wampole, died at Broken Bow Hospital at age 83 yrs,8 mos., & 23 dys. At the age of seven she accompanied her parents to Custer county in a covered wagon. A story told in the family of Etta and her sisters walking by the wagon in a big town when the chicken cage broke and they had to go chasing after them with their long hair flying. Etta lived in the township of Walworth until her marriage to A. B "Lon" Ash Nov 4, 1896. At a early age she became a member of the Christian Church. She drove many places like Colorado & Wyoming to see family as she did not like anyone driving her car. After the death of her husband she made her home with her son Criss Ash and family. One son Ernest died at age 14. Uncle Criss told me she did not have a middle name.
