LIllie Hershman Martin, 85, of Wanatah, died Friday, Feb. 24, 1995 at LaPorte Hospital after a short illness.
She was born Oct. 14, 1909 in Medaryville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wanatah Christian Church.
On May 9, 1925 in LaPorte, she married Clarence Martin, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1966.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jane (Earl) Ward and Patsy Mowbray, both of Wanatah, and Ruth Bellman of LaPorte; five sons, Harold (Arbutus) of Michigan City, Kenneth (Linda) of Wanatah, Charles (Mary) of LaPorte, Edward (Karen) of LaPorte, Edward (Karen) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Franklin "Ink" (Jennie) of Hebron; 38 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Martin.
Services 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 1995 at Peek Funeral Home, Wanatah, the Rev. Kenneth Gamblin officiating. Burial in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
