KASSON -- Laura F. Olson of Kasson died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, where she had been a patient for one month. She was 92 years old.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell, with Pastor Darby Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in East St. Olaf Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dibble Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St., Kasson, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

She was born Laura F. Carlson on June 7, 1917, in rural Henderson, Minn. She grew up in various places in Minnesota, and married Leonard G. Olson on Oct. 26, 1937, in Rock Dell.

Her husband was a farmer in Dodge and Olmsted counties, and Laura was a baker at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester for 17 years. They moved to Rochester in 1960. Leonard died in 1986, and she moved to Kasson in 1996.

Laura was a member of East St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Kasson Senior Citizens. She was active in her church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, music, traveling, crafts, and generally working with her hands.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Stephen) Crippen of Owatonna; her son, James Olson of rural Rochester; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Alice Klobunde of Minnetonka, Minn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph LeRoy; one brother and six sisters.

Memorials are preferred to East St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
