Gently and quietly, as a baby falling into sweet sleep. Grandma passed from this life across the river to the unknown shore. Born in Scipio, N.Y., June 2, 1824. Mrs. Caroline Ann Wilder was nearing her 81st birthday. When she was 12 years old, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Crandall, moved into the town of Freedom and from there to Sandusky. Here on Jan. 1, 1854, Caroline Crandall and John Wilder were united in marriage. Here were born two children-Minerva and Fred. The family moved from Sandusky to Oramel in 1879, then to Bolivar and in 1884 moved to Oramel, where shortly after she lost her husband. Here she lived for twenty years until the time of her first and last illness. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. C.A. McIntosh and her grandchildren.
