Uncle Deke was a pioneer in aviation was one of the first airline pilots, and was at the time of his retirement the Nations oldest airline pilot at 65. He flew for N.W.A. and his favorite plane was a Ford Tri Motor he I think was one of the people the FAA or CAA at the time said Airline Pilots couldnt be more than 60. He was WW1 vet and flew the mail and made a lot of pionering flights that today gave us routes for the airlines. I hardly remember him as I met him only once or twice when he retired and shortly there after Mom told me a lot of stories about him as did my Grandfather I am proud to call him Uncle and my love of flying and piloting comes from what I heard about him.
