Mr. Bailey was born in Blount Township, Vermilion County, Illinois, September 14, 1860, a son of William and Elizabeth Gritten Bailey. He had lived here nine years coming here from the vicinity of Armstrong.
Surviving him besides his widow, Malissa Jane, are two sons, Jess Bailey of Oakwood, Busey Bailey, of Danville; one daughter, Josie Bailey, at home; and two brothers, James E. Bailey, of Danville, and George Bailey, Bondwrent, Iowa.
The body was removed to the Edmund & Dickson Funeral Home in Danville, and was taken to the home Saturday. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the United Brethren Church at Perrysville. Burial will be in the Alhand Cemetery in Blount Township."
