Former Ness Woman Dies At Garden City
Mrs. Agatha Gassman, 84, died at Garden City, Sunday, May 17, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held there Tuesday morning, and the remains brought here for internment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The Gassman's are former residents of Ness City, having moved here from Hays in 1924. In 1946 because of her increasing years, Mrs. Gassman left Ness City and had since made her home with her children.
The husband passed away in 1929.
Survivors include: Four daughter, Mrs. Mary Dreher and Mrs. Anna Bieker, both of Salina, Mrs. Rosie Elders of Wichita, and Mrs. Kate Hammerschmidt of Gorham, three sons, John of Garden City, Jake of Rawlins, Wyoming, and Fred of Green River, Wyoming; besides other relatives.

Peter and Agatha had one other child not listed here that died in infancy or very young, I have no other information for. Peter and Agatha also adopted a girl, Rose from the "orphan train". She married and moved to Texas.
