Ray was born the son of Judge Winthrop B. and Helen Gray Bush Anderson in Pittsfield IL.

Ray was a classmate of mine at Higbee Junior High in Pittsfield. We also spent time together playing sandlot baseball and wiffle ball with guys our age during seventh and eighth grade. He had at least two younger brothers, I believe they were twins.

My family moved away after eighth grade while Ray finished up his school years at PHS class of 1966.

I believe he had a brief career in the insurance field. He was a graduate of Bradley University.
