Sadly, sixteen-year-old Chelsie was a victim of domestic violence along with her mother Tammy Morgan Garner, aunt Karen Garner Beaty and cousin Bobby Beaty.

Excerpts from Chelsie's obituary in the Florence Times Daily, dated 09 April 2009:

Chelsie Sierra Garner, 16, of Greenhill, Ala., was called Home by her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2009. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Rogers High School Gym. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the gym. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Chelsie was a student at Rogers High School. She participated in softball and volleyball. She loved sports, and she excelled in them.

Chelsie was a happy, cheerful, young lady who touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She will be missed by more people than she could ever imagine.

Chelsie was accompanied in death by her mother, Tammy Morgan Garner, Greenhill.

She is survived by her grandparents, Douglas and Shirley Morgan, Ford City, Bobby and Agnus Garner, Grassy; cousins, Tiffany and Laken Morgan, Greenhill, Parker Hammond; boyfriend, Kasey Butler, Greenhill; and accompanied in death by cousin, Bobby Beaty, Illinois.
