Obituary:
Requiem High Mass was sung by Father Miller for Vincent Jacklin, perhaps the oldest member of the catholic church in northwestern Ohio. He was born in Prussia, near Kohn, Germany in 1828 and when a lad of 11 years, set sail from Havre, France. He spent many years at Providence, Ohio - saw the building of the church there in '45. In his last years he lived quietly and contented at Holgate. He leaves two sons and several daughters. Father Miller said in part we are about to lay away a man who had a wonderful career. His extreme age, his faith in God, his many labors did not extinguish the love of God which expresses itself in many heroic actions. He served the Mass at Providence Church in '45, which Mass was read by Father Rappe, later Bishop of Cleveland. I express the sentiment of the entire congregation in saying he was a venerable man of deep faith. There is laid up for him a crown in Heaven.

Parents:
Johann Josef Jacklin (1785–unk)
Anna Maria Radermacher Jacklin (1796–unk)

Siblings:
Maria Catharina Jacklin Pitzen (1823–Unk)
Barbara Jacklin Schneider (1826–Unk)
Thomas Jacklin (1833–1916)
Anna Maria "Mary" Jacklin Getz (1837–1924)
Gertrude Jacklin Grilich (1843–1927)
