OBIT: Bruce E. Orr June 18, 1919 - April 7, 2009, MUENSTER, TX - Bruce E. Orr, 89, Munester, died April 7 at Saint Richard's Villa. Funeral service for Orr was at 2 p.m. April 10 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo with the Rev. Larry Coleman officiating. Family visitation was 6-8 p.m. April 9 at the funeral home. Born June 18, 1919 in Catlin, IL to the late Clarence and Edith Kuechler Orr, he was one of four children. He was raised in Normal, IL, where he completed high school, and later received his bachelor's degree at Illinois State University, a master's in industrial arts from the University of Northern Colorado and a master's in math at Syracuse University. Orr went into the U.S. Navy in 1941. While stationed in Wichita Falls he met Martha Jo Wilson, a Saint Jo girl, who he married in 1942. They had two daughters and a son. He later married Georgia Hoover, Saint Jo, on June 22, 1979. Orr taught school more than 30 years, living in Arlington 24 years, then Fort Worth and Denton. He was a member of the Methodist Faith, played violin, enjoyed gardening and had many other pursuits. Survivors include his wife Georgia, Muenster; daughter, Dedra Diehl, Iowa City, IA and Carla Orr, Saint Jo; son, Eric Orr, Lewisville; sister, Barbara Blatnik, Western Springs, IL; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edith M. Orr; brother , Donald Orr and sister, Mary Ellen Pourchot. Pallbearers were Ryon Orr, David Baumann, Ethan Diehl and Terry Fender.
