Mrs. Mary E. Gudgel, 86, former well known Calhoun resident, died Wednesday in Santa Maria, California, where she had been making her home since 1962.
She was born in Sumner, IL on December 27, 1883.
Her husband, Bert Gudgel, died in 1945.
Her survivors include three sons. Dr. H. P. Gudgel of Santa Maria, Calif., Dr. Paul Gudgel of Danville, Kentucky and Ross Gudgel of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Mrs.Lucille Jenkins of Lompac, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Jane Fernley of Salem, Oregon; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The body is being returned to the Schaub Funeral Home, where visitation will be held between 7 and 9 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services will then be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in Haven Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. W. A. Robinson officiating.
