Born in Gaffney, he was the son of Thelma Blanchard Taber of Gaffney and the late Herbert William Taber and son of the late Kurt Coleman. He was married to Penny Fowler Coleman. Mr. Coleman was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Southside Baptist Church and also attended Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by two sons, Mark Coleman and wife, Tina, of Gaffney and Billy Fallen and wife, Trina, of Blacksburg; three daughters, Alicia Lathan and husband, Johnny, of Gaffney and Brenda Beach and husband, John, of Cowpens and Shannon Bolin of Gastonia, N.C.; four brothers, Dennis Coleman and fiance, Angie Willis, Robert Coleman and wife, Faye, Ricky Coleman and wife, Crystal, and Richard Taber and wife, Cindy, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Teresa Rose and Kathy Carter, both of Gaffney; and 14 grandchildren.
