30 Jan 1965: Calvin M. Long, 83, 105 N. Chestnut St., Palmyra, died at 7:10 a.m. today in the Good Samaritan Hospital. He had been a patient there ten days. Long was a retired engineer for the Tuscorora Oil Company, a subsidiary of the Standard Oil Company. His station was located first in Myerstown and later In Grantville. He was a member of Palm United Lutheran Church, Palmyra and the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday school. Several years ago, he served on the church council. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Henne Long, died three years ago. He is survived by two daughters, the Misses Edna M. and Ellen A. Long, both at home; three sons, Russell, Myerstown; Howard, Beaver, Pa. and Dr. Calvin H. Long, Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert W. Berstler and Mrs. Mary Umbenhower, both of Hamburg, and one brother, Robert M., Hyde Park, Reading. [Lebanon Daily News]
