Following his marriage to Lillian, he worked as a bookkeeper in Fort Worth, Texas where he and Lillian lived with her parents (1900 census). By 1910 they had moved to Oklahoma where he was a real estate agent in Shawnee City, Oklahoma in 1910. From 1912 to 1916 he and his wife Lillian lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he was the President of Lambard-Hart Loan Company. In 1920 he was an oil broker in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
