MARION DOW, CIVIL WAR VETERAN, DEAD
Marion Dow, Civil war veteran and for the past two decades a resident of Mattoon, passed away at his home, 813 North Thirteenth streeet, almost suddenly about one o'clock Sunday afternoon. A stomach disorder, which manifested itself only Sunday morning, caused his death. Previous to Sunday, Mr. Dow, although somewhat frail from age, had been in good health.
Funeral services have not been arranged. Burial is to be in Drummond Cemetary, near Neoga.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Susan Dow; two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Cody of Sullivan and Mrs. Mattie Hall of Mattoon, and five sons, Henry Dow of Longdale, Okla., Charles Dow and Clarence Dow of Smithville, Ark., John Dow and Lawrence Dow, both of Mattoon.
Mr. Dow was born near Neoga on October 20, 1845, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Dow. He served in the Civil war and later farmed near Neoga until removing to Mattoon some twenty-one years ago.
Mr. Dow was twice married, the first time on October 16, 1864, to Miss Lucy Varner of Crawford county, who passed away about thirty-five years ago, and on April 28, 1895, to Susan Cutright of Greenup.

DOW FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FROM CHURCH OF CHRIST
Funeral services for Marion Dow who passed away at his home, 813 North Thirteenth street, Sunday afternoon, will be held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning from the Church of Christ, with Rev. W. G. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Drummond cemetary, near Neoga.
