French citizens initially buried Bossman in a civilian cemetery at Epernay, France, in a grave next to the grave (or graves - not yet clear) of the three tankers. When Graves Registration disinterred the remains for transport to the temporary US military cemetery at Champigneul, they inadvertently co-mingled Bossman's remains with Pvt. Tucker, Cpl. Ensminger and Lt. Shalijan.
