Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bunker's Funereal Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa, for Elizabeth Jerles, a longtime Wickenburg resident who died Jan. 9 in Phoenix. Interment will follow in the Mesa Cemetery.

Mrs. Jerles was born in 1911 in Bellville, Kan. She had lived in Arizona for 55 years.

She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arizona in 1933, and a Masters of Music from UCLA in 1957.

Mrs. Jerles was active in musical circles for many years, and studied under two renowned teachers, Joseph Bloch of the Julliard School of Music, and Rudolph Ganz, president of the Chicago Music College.
She taught music for 40 years, in six different Arizona communities.

In 1966, Mrs. Jerles was named Music Educator of the Year in Arizona.
One of her most prized achievements was helping establish the Friends of Music program in Wickenburg.
