Guttorm Olsen Otternes (1823-1886). Emigrated in 1851. Married in Wisconsin to Brita Ivarsdtr. Frondal from Aurland.
Guttorm Olsen Otternes died on his homestead in Black Hammer in 1887, age 64. He was buried in Black Hammer N.E.L. Church Cemetery alongside of his three daughters who had preceded him in death. Brita Otternes continued to live on the home farm with her remaining children who were at home, Jane, Ole C. Otterness and his young family, and a granddaughter, Maria Holum, who made her home with them until her marriage to Helmer K. Ike in Black Hammer. Brita Otterness died at her home in 1897, age 68.
