Hansford "Hamburger" Ewing, 68, of Manifest, died Thursday, January 1, 2004, in Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. A native of Manifest, he was a retired logger and truck driver, a member of the Baptist faight and a devoted husband and father.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, at Community Pentecostal Church of Manifest with the Revs. Claude Terrell and Charlie Vickers officiating. Interment followed int the Huffman Cemetery near Manifest under direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lane Ewing; his father, Charlie Ewing; and two brothers, Waylon "Cheater" Ewing and Earl Wayne Ewing.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Kay Beavers Ewing of Manifest; two sons, Jeffery B. Ewing of Manifest and Jerome L. Ewing of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Judy Ewing of Manifest and Jennifer Mason and husband Roger, of Sandy Lake; his mother, Gladys Ewing Ford; three sisters, Geraldine Green of Winnsboro, Lois Gordon of Jonesville and Marie Young of Arcadia, Mo.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
