SERVICES HELD FOR MILLEDGE W. CARR

Clarksdale, Miss. - Services for Milledge W. Carr, 82, formerly of Newton, Miss., were held in Clarksdale with Dr. F. K. Horton, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial was in Newton Friday.

Carr died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Valentine, after an extended illness. Carr formerly was engaged in farming at Newton and held a position with the postoffice there during his residence. He served as a member of the Board of Supervisors for 12 years and during his administration a system of improved highways was launched.

Carr was a brother of the late Judge J. D. Carr of Newton and former member of the legislature.

Other surviving children, J. A. Carr of Bogalusa, La.; H. M. Carr of Chattanooga, Tenn,; Mrs. George Alt of Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. H. P. Sullivan of New Albany, Ind.; and Mrs. A. C. Petrinos of Joilet, Ill. He leaves the following brothers and sisters: R. A. Carr and Mrs. Ila Sykes of Newton, C. W. Carr of Jackson, Miss., T. W. Carr of Moorhead, Miss.; Mrs. Ed Chamblee of Union, Miss. and Mrs. H. V. Estes of Memphis.
