Clifton Ingram
b. about 1932

On April 5, 2009, Clifton Ingram, 76, of Burnsville, N.C., was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ after a short battle of cancer at his home.

A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late Brown and Mary Bennett Ingram.

He worked as a Maintenance worker at Baxter's where he retired and was a veteran of the US Navy serving eight years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Pattie Hargaret Ingram, two sons Edward and Charles, one brother Lloyd and two sister's Ilean Ingram and Hazel Mead.

Survivors include his wife Florence Ingram of the home, a daughter Selina Ingram Byrd and husband Tony of Three Mile, three grandchildren Ariel, Danielle and Elijah Walker, two step-sons Phillip Peterson and wife Giovanna of Mount Holly and David Peterson and wife Gail of Tipton Hill, two step-grandchildren Ethan and Samuel Peterson, two brothers Hayden Ingram and wife Pearl of Morganton and Eddie Ingram of Linville, two sisters Hannah Honeycutt of Wilmington and Cora McFee and husband Tommy of Asheville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many loved friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Ingram will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday April 8, 2009 in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church with the Revs. Darrin Waldroup and Chris Rathbone officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
