James Michael Ochiltree
1885 History of Fayette Co. IN. p. 302: "James M. Ochiltree, farmer, Connersville Township, ... was born in Preble County, Ohio, in 1836. For several years he worked by the month, and provided for his mother till her death in 1855. ... After his marriage Mr. Ochiltree rented land for a few years and then purchased 124 acres, since adding 106 more. His farm is provided with an excellent stone quarry which he is operating quite extensively and successfully. In politics he is a stanch Republican, voting with that party on all questions of national interst. He has seven children living: William, Thaddeus, Robert, Calvin, James, Celina C. and Jennie. An infant daughter, China, is deceased."
