O. C. Mundell, 92, of 539 Old Waynesburg Road, Carmichaels, died at 6:05 am Wednesday, May 27, 1970, in Greene County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born November 13, 1877 near Carmichaels, a son of Abner and Anna Stirling Mundell. His wife Sadie Ewart Mundell survives.
Mr. Mundell received his early education in the Greene Academy and Waynesburg College, and in 1900 began a teaching career which lasted 39 years.
He serves as a teacher, principal, and supervising principal in schools in Greene, Fayette, and Washington Counties. His last assignment as supervising principal was at the Cross Creek Township Schools in Washington County.
Mr. Mundell was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church near Glades, where he was an elder and a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mrs. J. Thomas (Amy) Johnson of Upper St. Clair, and four grandsons and four great grandchildren.
Three brothers, William, James, and Edward are deceased.
Funeral services were held Friday with burial in Glades Cemetery.
