Frances Patricia Lineberger Dellinger, of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009.

Patricia was born in Lincolnton, NC on August 9, 1931 to the late Maude Blanche Allen Lineberger and late Bivian Vanderbilt Lineberger.

Patricia grew up, went to school, and lived in Lincolnton until she and her husband and first three children moved to Cherryville in 1957 to run the family business, Cherryville Dry Cleaners, which they opened in 1951. She was a busy wife, mother, businesswoman, and artist. Patricia raised four children, while managing the family business, and nurturing the artistic talents and interests in her children that they inherited from her; also serving quite a few turns as a Grade Mother. She was a meticulous genealogist in family research, an avocation that she shared with her devoted husband Red, whom she met upon his return from WWII. They enjoyed traveling throughout the south while researching state archives for genealogical records.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of nearly 61 years, Everette Earl (Red) Dellinger; daughters: Sherry Dellinger Bingham of Cherryville, NC, Debora Dellinger Harllee of Winston-Salem, NC, and Anita Elise Dellinger Trisch of Troy, MO; son James Marshall Dellinger of San Gabriel CA; grandsons: Brandon Edward Bingham of Matthews, NC, Justin Blake Bingham of Matthews, NC and Bryan Jennings Byers of Troy, MO; granddaughter Hannah Everette Dellinger of Anaheim, CA; and great-grandson Parker Blake Bingham of Matthews, NC; and a brother, Allen Victor Lineberger of Atlanta, GA.

Mrs. Dellinger's family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm on Monday afternoon, April 6th at Carpenter's Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held immediately following visitation in the Chapel at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 1100 East Main Street, Cherryville, NC. Burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to HOSPICE of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC, 28092 or to the First Baptist Church, 301 East First Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
