David Ferren born 25 October 1818, Highland County, Ohio, married, in Ohio, Elma Borden, born, Ohio, (daughter of John Borden and Polly Collins). David died 28 April 1888, Crawford County, Illinois. Some census information indicates David was born in Pennsylvania, his Death Certificate indicates he was born in Highland County, Ohio. David and family moved from Ohio to Ripley County, Indiana before 26 January 1850 and was in Crawford County, Illinois for the 1880 census where he said his parents were from Pennsylvania. Elma indicated her parents were from Virginia on the 1880 Crawford County, Illinois census.

David sold his 20 acres in Highland County, Ohio on 1 March 1849 and moved to Ripley County, Indiana. David had several real estate transactions in Ripley County, Indiana before he sold his land on 13 February 1868 and moved with his brothers Montgomery and John to Illinois.

He was a Baptist Minister in Crawford and Richland counties, Illinois.

David lived in Richland County, Illinois from 1868 until some time after the 1870 census.

For the 1850 census on 10 September 1850 he was with his wife, four children and two brothers in Shelby Township, Ripley County, Indiana.

For the 1870 census on 25 June 1870 he was with his wife and five children in Claremont Township, Richland County, Illinois.
