Carl Albrecht, 1153 Hinsdale avenue, insurance agent here and a resident of Beloit for the last 21 years, died at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at the Methodist hospital at Madison. He had been in poor health the last five years and critically ill the last week. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Albrecht was born April 10, 1868, in Germany. He came to this country when he was 16 years old. He lived in Dubuque, Ia., for a time, and he moved to Beloit from New Lisbon, Wis., where he farmed approximately 20 years.
Since he came to Beloit, Mr. Albrecht conducted an insurance business. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht observed their golden wedding anniversary here on May 6, 1937.
Survivors are his wife; a son, John F. Albrecht, Beloit; four daughters, Mrs. H. C. Van Dyke, Mrs. George Boehmer and Mrs. August Gaetske, all of Beloit, and Mrs. Carl Bloom of Portage; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Grote, Milwaukee; a brother, Albert Albrecht, New Lisbon, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home, and at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church. The Rev. T. G. Gohlke will officate. Burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery.
Baptism Record provides evidence that Carl was born in Trieglaff, Greifenberg, Stettin, Pomerania, Prussia.
