Bob Glover passed away peacefully on February 14, 2009, in St. John's Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends. Bob was born Jan. 26, 1933. in Springfield, Missouri, to Leroy and Emma Flo Glover. He went to school in Springfield and colleges in Springfield and Tulsa Okla. He graduated from SMS in 1957, with a degree in marketing and management. He was a member of the U.S. Army after graduation. He retired from Dayco Corporation in 1997, after working there for 40 years. Bob loved sports and they were a big part of his life. He played many sports in school, but was best known for his softball pitching. He went to several world tournaments. It was not only the games he
loved, but the many friends he made along the way. Bob was a member of the Springfield
Softball Hall of Fame. He was also an avid golfer at Fremont Hills, where he was a member for 31 years. Bob married Jo Glover on October 31, 1954, and they raised a son together, Scott Glover of Nixa. Bob became a Christian when he was a very young man going to Grant Avenue Baptist Church. The last few months he was no longer able to go to church, but that didn't stop his wonderful Sunday School Class of 1st Baptist Church of Ozark from praying for him, doing for him and just being his special friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Emma Glover. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo Glover; one son, Scott Lee Glover and wife, Kathy Thomas Glover; a sister, Joann Clouse and husband, James Clouse of California; two grandchildren, Josh and Kylie Jo; and one great-grandchild, Keegan Jo. He is also survived by a very special aunt, Maggie Hicks; his extended step-grandchildren, Kaleb, Krystal and Seth; and many wonderful nieces and nephews and their families. Bob had a very special sense of humor and his family and friends will remember him for that trait and his loving generosity. Special thanks to special friends during Bobs illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 18, at 2 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East Chapel, 3540 East Seminole. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Maple Park Cemetery. Memorable contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the 1st Baptist Church of Ozark.
